If your property is stolen or completely destroyed you have no proof you actually owned an item.
Insurance companies do not write blank checks.

Security Protection and Peace of Mind

Having an up to Date Home Inventory Provides you with the information you need if you should suffer a loss. Dealing with the after affects of a fire, flood, hurricane, or tornado is a stressful event. An up to date home inventory enables you not to have to rely on your memory, or sort through your destroyed belongings during this stressful time.

Insurance Companies Often require Proof of Home Contents And Value.

Your insurance company will require you to provide documented evidence of the property you are claiming and the circumstances of your loss to justify the amount you are claiming. An up to date home inventory with written and photographic evidence of your possessions will greatly reduce your aggravation and make sure you get the compensation needed to replace your items.

insurance companies are often flooded with claims after a natural disaster. Claims adjusters with multiple claims have a daunting task ahead of them with several claims to process at the same time.

  • Claims with full documentation of losses (a home inventory) will easily be processed first.
  • Files waiting for claimants to compile a list of losses will be pushed to the back of the desk.
  • Claims adjusters are often pressured to settle claims and close their files. Without documentation they are likely to offer a settlement far below the actual loss to clear their desk of open claims.

An accurate up to date home inventory will allow you to easily file a claim that will prove your actual loss. You will not feel pressured to accept a claims adjusters evaluation of your property loss. With your insurance agents help your inventory will provide the information to ensure you have the proper policy coverage for the articles in your home.

The main benefit of a home inventory is STRESS RELIEF!!
Documentation will determine compensation if and when it comes time to place an insurance claim. The burden will be on you to prove that items existed and that they had certain values based on their purchase prices and on their ages and conditions at the time of loss.

Fire or Storm loss.

Your house catches fire. The local fire department arrive and extinguish the flames but all that remains are two charred walls and a basement of smoldering ashes. That terrible feeling only worsens as the questions arise in your mind.

  • Where are we going to stay?
  • What do we have to wear?
  • What are we going to eat?

You call your insurance agent, within hours the emergency equipment has gone, the family returns to rubble and the claims adjuster arrives. He looks at the damage and asks you for a list of the items you have lost.

I can't help you with the temporary housing, or the clothes you will need. I cant feed your family or store the extra car in my driveway. I'm not a contractor so I cannot repair or rebuild your home. I am a Home Inventory Professional, and I can supply that much needed list of items lost to get your claims process started immediately. The stress of remembering what items you had, when you bought them, how much they cost, and what model appliance or electronic device it was are all relieved. You can focus on what needs done immediately, taking care of yourself and your family.

With the terrible state of our economy insurance company's have two ways to stay profitable. Raise insurance rates and lower the settlement costs of claims. If you cannot prove you had an item it will not be replaced. Our inventory services give you the tools needed for complete replacement of your loss. Many people only think of the interior possessions of a home. Would you think to include the landscaping around your home? The custom patio you spent weeks building, or the garage organizer walls you had installed? We do! That is what makes us a professional service and guarantees you have all the documentation needed for maximum allowable payments on your losses.

Robbery or Theft.

The house looks fine until you open the front door. Everything is strewn throughout the rooms. Items are smashed and broken everywhere the home. You feel violated and angry, the frustration and stress only worsens when the police request a list of missing items. Your claims adjuster requests an additional list of damaged items and property damages. Depending on what was stolen you already have a list of things to do.

  • Change the locks
  • Contact credit card companied
  • Change bank account information
  • Protect your identity if personal information was stolen
  • Have your house repaired

A home inventory supplies all this needed information to both police and insurance officials leaving you free to handle your immediate needs.

Moving and Storage

You just bought a new house and eagerly await the moving truck with a life long collection of items. It finally arrives and the movers start unloading. As you unpack the stack of boxes your antique headboard is carried by. You notice that a large portion of the beautiful hand inlaid wood is gone. You yell "hey what happened to that"? The reply is startling "I dun no, It must have been like that when we packed it." It lies solely on you to prove the condition of your items to claim damages against the movers. A complete Home Inventory would have photographs and video of your possessions and provide undisputable proof of their condition. The same burden of proof is required for items placed in storage.
